Plant this sedum in a sunny spot for optimum growth and flowering. It can tolerate partial shade, but flowers best in full sun. The plant likes dry conditions, so provide well-drained, sandy or stony soil. It can tolerate poor soil just fine, but does not like wet feet. Because this is a succulent, it needs very little water. Water only during long dry periods and avoid over-watering to prevent root rot.
After flowering, you can prune away the spent flowers to keep the plant compact and neat. This also encourages new growth the following season. This sedum is hardy and can withstand cold well. In cold winters, the leaves may recede a bit, but it recovers quickly in spring.
