Care tips

Plant lavender in a sunny spot, as it likes at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Lavender grows best in well-drained, sandy or calcareous soil. Make sure water is not left standing, as the plant is prone to root rot. This plant is tolerant of drought, so water only when the soil is completely dry. Overwatering can be harmful. Although ‘Hidcote’ is hardy, in very cold areas you can add a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to give it extra protection.
