Heuchera sanguinea ‘Coral Forest’

Heuchera sanguinea ‘Coral Forest’ is a small, compact plant with glossy, dark green leaves that have a hint of pale green. The leaves grow to about 25 cm high, making the plant an ideal ground cover. And when it’s time to flower, airy clusters of coral-red flowers emerge on slender stems.

Care tips

The Heuchera is easy to care for, does well in cool, well-drained and moist soils, but less so in sandy and poor soils. Heuchera likes semi-shade and should definitely be kept out of full sun, or the leaves will burn.

Plant the roots of Heuchera slightly deeper than the crown because they root superficially. Also avoid planting them too close to vigorous perennials.

Every 3 years you can rejuvenate the plants by digging them out, removing the long rhizome, and replanting the small plants with small roots and some rhizome. This way you maintain a more beautiful, compact plant with large leaves.
