Geum ‘Nonna’ likes to stand in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in the sun. Tolerates partial shade. Avoid soggy soil in winter. Originally these are plants of the heavy clay, on sandy soil they therefore want a generous gift of compost.
After flowering, prune back the spent stems. From a biennial ripening, where the old woody hearts can be removed, these plants revive tremendously.
