Armeria maritima Splendens makes tufts of grassy plants with dark green leaves. And when it is time to flower, many beautiful, round, dark pink bulbs appear on sturdy stems.
This plant loves salt and does super well on the coast and along places where road salt is used, such as sidewalks and paths. And here’s a handy tip: since they don’t grow very tall, it’s smart to plant them in groups. The English grass is originally from the mountains, so is also completely at home in rock gardens, as “fillers” between stones or in pile walls. And even fits in between paving. It really is a versatile and beautiful plant for all kinds of spots in the garden!
