Salvia argentea

Salvia argentea is an unusual and eye-catching plant. You can put this Silver Sage in groups or alone, and it also does well in rock gardens or on walls. The plant grows quickly and makes a wide rosette 50 to 60 cm wide. The leaves are large, oval and covered with silvery down. The foliage grows 20 to 30 cm high and is about 60 cm in diameter. In the second year, the plant begins to flower and produces nectar and honey. The flower stalks are branched and stand 70 to 80 cm tall. They have square stems and bear white flowers.

Care tips

Salvia argentea does best in soil that is not too poor and likes plenty of sunlight. It is perfect for south-facing gardens. If you prune the plant after its first bloom, it will flower vigorously again.
It is smart to split and replant Salvia argentea every 3 years.
