Care tips

Lavatera ‘Burgundy Wine’ loves a little extra nutrition, so give her some manure regularly. And when the cold days approach, give her a warm blanket of protection, such as with pine branches or a layer of leaves.

When it is time to prune, in early winter, cut back the shrub to about 50 cm above the first buds. If you prefer a spring pruning, you can trim the shape of the shrub. Then leave two or three buds at the base of the new shoots for a nicer, more compact shape. This is how to keep ‘Burgundy Wine’ in top form!
