Thymus citriodorus

Thymus citriodorus is an evergreen, compact groundcover that grows to a maximum height of 20 cm. The plant has dark green lemon-scented leaves and blooms in July – August with small lilac-pink flowers. An aromatic herbal plant, which is not only an addition to your (herb) garden, but is also good to use in the kitchen because of its fresh green lemon fragrance and flavor. Thymus citriodorus ‘Aureus’ and Thymus citriodorus ‘Doone Valley’ also belong to the Lemon thyme family.

Thymus citriodorus is an undemanding plant that likes a sunny spot. Do water regularly, but let the soil dry out between waterings to prevent the roots from drowning. Regular pruning is recommended, this promotes the growth and health of the plant. Time to prune is spring and after flowering.
