Lithodora does not like lime in the soil, so it is best to plant it in somewhat acidic soil. Make sure the soil is well-drained, but not too nutritious. Protect the plant from the sun during frosts to prevent it from drying out.
Lithodora does not actually need pruning because the plant remains green in winter. If parts of the plant have become old and unsightly in the spring, cut them away. Wait until the last severe night frost has passed, usually in late March or April. When pruning, always use sharp and clean pruning shears to avoid fungus or infection.
